On your AVR leave the impedance switch to the highest ohm setting regardless of the rated impedance of the speaker by the manufacturer. In this case use the 8 ohm setting. Going to the 6 ohm setting or any lower impedance setting will only limit the current and supply less possible power to the speakers. Apparently the Verus line has significant improvements over the Intimus line. They are beautiful looking speakers.
