I just cam across this, and I still cannot believe it. It is so funny that I though I have to share it. The even bigger issue is that the item is sold by one good company IMO: Parts Express and is made by another decent company - Behringer. Here it is:

Behringer EPQ1200 Europower 1200W Lightweight 2-Ch Power Amp". So I thought... hell, if it puts up a third of that it still sound like a good deal for an outdoor digital amp.
Upon reading the entire description I finally got to the specs list; it turns out that:
1. 1200 W is the sum of the two channels; OK.. still not bad.
2. It's Peak power... not RMS. Oh oh...
3. The power is into a 4 ohm load. Now it starts to get crazy.
4. The actual power is 250W @ 8 ohm per channel.
How in the world they get away with this? I guess the Axiom Amps are waaaaay overpriced
And to end it on an even funnier note, here is a sample from one "review":
"The wattage thing might be a bit overrated. I would suggest this amp for monitors.
If used for mains it might be pushing it."
Really??? 1200W is not enough for main floorstanding speakers?? Just LOL.
