We have Tom's GE Profile dual fuel stove as well. Mostly because Tom is my hero. It's 7 years old now and continues to work perfectly. I would highly recommend the GE line although I can't speak to newer models. Unless something drastic changed, I would suspect they are still an excellent choice in thier price range.
I'll never be without gas top burners again. It's just sooo much better to have instant temperature adjustment. Like Tom, the gas oven portion just didn't appeal to us. We are very happy with the hybrid version and the GE is proving to be a good choice long term.
Another plus of the gas burners is being able to flame roast chili peppers!!!!
