One thing I try to do during testing speakers is to get insight from the manufacturer regarding things like placement... etc.... Break in is one of those items. AV123 recommends a fairly long break in time... but not while you are listening to them. You fire them up, leave them on, and come back in a few days. If the noise is a problem, just run a mono pink noise section, put them nose to nose, and wire them out of phase. But since you don't listen much during the break in time, it is not one's ears that are being "acclimated" in this case.

And this may sound harsh, but I don't care who wins this... if there even is a winner. I e-mailed to AV123 the results of the subwoofer shootout so they could post it, Home Theater SPot does not accept Word files... but if you get a chance, read it... it will give you a flavor for what I look for in a speaker.
