I'm looking for ideas how to set up audio for my garage. I have not really paid much attention to the Airplay or wireless stuff...

When I built my house, I ran Cat5 and speaker wire all over the place. It is all home ran to a central location in my office. I ran Cat5 to a 4X4 box in the garage, and speaker wire to the garage as well. I never did do anything for the whole home audio plans.

I have a set of M3's and a set of M22's just collecting dust. I figure the M3's would be perfect for the garage, as I do not wish to have a sub. I do not want the electronics in the garage though, as I am always making sawdust or some other dust creating task.

I also have a low-end Onkyo AVR (TX-NR509) with network capabilities. I figured I could always just place the AVR in my office and tie it into the network to play music that's on my NAS, or use some other device to stream with.

What I'd like to do, is use some kind of remote interface that's in the garage. I'm envisioning a touch screen that would interface to the AVR, and connect the two with the Cat5 cable. That way I would not have to track dust back and forth between the garage the office. Not sure what's available to do this. Or if there is some other way to do this via WiFi, I think that would work too, as my home network router is only 15 feet away from the garage door.

I also have an Ipad Mini that was given to me when I got new cell phone service. Haven't touched the thing....

Thoughts, ideas??
