I'm going to test a pair of M1ti's. Using the Energy Take 5 set now. I want the same HUGE soundstage but with better upper bass response. Take 5's vocals are thin too. Any deep male voice (Hoootie + Blowfish, Mel Gibson, James Earl Jones, etc) sounds weak from the tiny 3.5" driver. Need small bookshelves though. Nothing above say 10"H x 7"W.
What was your previous speaker, what speaker did you upgrade to, and why?

Push your size limits a bit and pick up the M3.
At barely 14x9 you will notice a huge difference but still have a very compact speaker.

As for the ti vs se labeling, i believe Alan mentioned, not too long ago, that the renaming was due to a small design change in the speaker line but this was nothing major if i remember correctly.

Hi,

Yes, we've dropped the "SE" designation. It was a change in the edge molding of the enclosures--no acoustical effect at all.

And try the M2i's. An amazing speaker for the money with more midrange detail and clarity on vocals than the M3.

i used to have paradigm titans with a cc-170 for my home theater. i switched them for 3 m2is and the difference is incredible! paradigm definately cant touch the bang for the buck of these speakers. i am sure i wont be upgrading these for a very long time.

Will the 2's still sound right with the 1's as surrounds? Different Tweeter.

I'm still waiting for the 1's to arrive. If they are what I'm looking for I'll give the 2's a try up front and move the 1's to the rear. I listen to 70% two channel music and 30% movies. I might try the HSU VTF2. I like the sound of sealed subs but can't find any to my liking or price range. Loved the M&K 700 - Twin 8" 200 $1300! Yikes. Or finish my 15" sealed project. Have small enclosure and 250 watt sub amp, but no driver.

An Adire Tempest should work well in your sealed enclosure with the 250w amp.

SJ, you can read the specs and other info at adireaudio.com.

more specifically, Adire Tempest . I'm using the Adire Shiva which is 12 inch. Depending on your enclosure volume and if you've cut the driver cutout you could decide between the two. Check out Adire's sealed application guides.
