Oooh...nice Cuda

Or......A red 69 Mach 1, or an equally red 65 Malibu SS Conv. Or my personal favorite: A similarily red 59 Austin Healey 100-6 which I drove over half way thru a Ford Cortina back in 72

My 87 Jeep daily driver is beige.

On second thought; those other cars are cool too....just no photos!!

But hey!! I didn't know all you guys were as old as I

>>Would I notice a significant diffrence with the m60's? Would they better match the vp150?

I guess the big question is whether you noticed a difference in the midrange when going from the M22s to the M50s (eg. vocals and instruments sounded a tiny bit less sharp) and if so which sound you preferred. M50s sort of sound like big M3s, M60s sort of sound like big M22s. Strictly speaking the M60s are a bit more "flat" than the 50s but if your room is fairly "live" (bare walls or floors etc) then the 50s might be a better match for your room.

There is obviously a big difference in bass between M50 and M22 so it's sometimes hard to hear the difference in the upper midrange. If you feel that the M50s are missing anything compared to the M22s (and you liked the 22s better in that regard) then the 60s will be more like the M22s. If you didn't notice a difference in the midrange, or preferred the 50s over the 22s in terms of midrange sound, then I would stay with the 50s. The difference is supposed to be fairly small anyways.

Quadraphonic.....ahhh yea, cool stuff back in the day! One of the first quadraphonic albums I remember listening to was this album, track #9 was especially cool to hear!

Ummmmm, I *barely* remember though...I was sooo very young.

The m22's had a defect so I dont think I really got a good idea of what they would sound like without being tainted. To tell the truth the M50's sound pretty darn good to me. I just kept reading all these posts about how much better the midrange was with the M60's.

As a matter of fact, the highs with the vp150 are almost too bright with my new Yahmaha. With my older Oknyo, they did not sound so............"painful". I am PEQing to the fronts (m50's) and using the THX cinema modes to make it tolerable. I dont know if going to the m60's would ruin the hole set by making everything too bright.

I think I am going to stay the way I am for now..............well, I might order another vp150 since its slightly off center now that I have mounted to above the screen. I am dying to spend money I guess.

The set-up I am currently running is M50s for mains and an M3(vertical/inverted) for center, and am very happy with it.

If a person prefered the sound of the M50s, that would be one way to go. The M3 is a perfect match for the sound of the M50 and has no problem acting as center in my 16x27 room. And the "B" word never gets said!

The only downside is that M3 is so much less expensive than the VP150 that you would miss out on all the fun of spending all that extra money

as the founder of the M50ti crew i feel compelled to weigh in here. i run a vp150 and qs8's along with my m50's and i think they match very well. transitions from the front sound stage to the rear, and vice versa, are handled very well for both DVD-A and dolby/dts 5.1, no complaints here. i have not heard the m60 or 22 so i cant comment on the differances. i have compared the m50's to the paridigm monitor 11's which cost about 500$ more. the paridigms play a little lower but other than that the m50's match the performance of a speaker that's almost twice the price.
