HEY! You can't vote twice. And he didn't say anything about the EP600 in the title of this thread. What? Are you an EP600 fanboy now? Are we now gonna have to put up with you hawking the 600 in EVERY subwoofer thread? When the thread is about the 600, THEN you can mention it, but when it isn't, quit being a fanboy, fanboy, fanboy!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Father Time !

HOW could you suggest I am a FAN boy. I don't even OWN a fan, you old FART !

First, and foremost, for the uninitiated, Craig is my treasured friend and, hopefully, he knows that diatribe was in jest. Now YOU know as well.

Yep - We are darn good friends...

I have a brief thought, Jack. Perhaps you should stop reading AVS?

I ran your room dimensions through ModeCalc and the room modes looked pretty evenly spread out, ie your room should not have any really evil bass problems. Given that, I would go with EP500 over 2 EP175s. The EP500 definitely goes deeper into the bass than the EP175, and looks like it can generate at least as much SPL as 2x EP175.

If your room response looked to be evil it might be worth going the dual sub route, but IMO dual subs only start to make sense when the cheaper sub goes just as deep as the more expensive sub and just doesn't play as loud (eg. 2x SVS PCI vs. 1x SVS PC Ultra).

Think of it like anything else. Would you rather have one of something that works really well, or have two of that something, but they only do an ok job? For the most part, the one is going to win out. Sure, there are exceptions like you obviously want two front speakers, but that gives the advantage of stereo sound...we aren't concerned about a L and R sub playing in stereo.

Definitely the EP500. I would even take the 500 over 2 350's. You won't regret it, and you can always go with a second EP500 or 600 later.
