Does anyone have satelite radio? I am totally fed up with the same 10 songs they play on the radio here and I'm gonna test drive the new Civic SI Coupe this weekend and I think it comes with XMradio. Is this better than Sirius or the other one not sure of the name...BTW I work for Honda and can't believe they are finally showin the Civic some love again by making it supersporty and YAY to the awesome sound system! Just not sure about the satelite thingy though... Anyone got XM?

Flame,

I just recently joined the XM clan and I must say that I am hooked! Almost as much as I am hooked on my Axiom/SVS marriage..

I had to replace an aging radio in my van and got a new Pioneer unit to replace it. While I was there I ask the saleslady about the cost of adding XM. I figured while I had the dash torn apart that I should best do it now to save me a lot of time in the future. I was imediately impressed with all the sound quality of the XM signal verses the old cassette/FM choice I had lived with all this time not to mention the choice of music types.

My next step in the madness was to buy a Roady2 unit and install it on my Goldwing using the cassette adapter for hookup. I already had a 12 disc CD on it but it hasn't been used since the XM was installed and don't look for it be used much anymore. I mounted it so that it could be removed and brought inside so I could hook it up to my Axioms in the house when I am not riding.

I was on vacation last week and stopped at Circuit City and bought the gadget that makes the Roady2 portable like a walkman. I won't be using it real often but I have it when needed.

Also with the XM subscription you can logon online and listen to any of the channels through your computer if you like. This is a heavy bandwidth user so highspeed DSL or cable it really a must to do this.

I have "recruited" two other people I know since showing them the XM service. Both of them as well as myself are very pleased with the XM service and channels available for listening.

I went with XM since they were the first in the business and have more channels than Sirius does.

Regards..

Rick

One afterthought..You mentioned the great sound system in the Honda you were looking at..My cousin which was one of the two that got XM has a one year old Kia and it also has a great sound system in it. When we installed his XM he was nothing but smiles when he heard it the first time..

I'm a new XM user. I got a free Tao receiver recently. I almost NEVER listen to local radio anymore. I can listen to more content and my receiver also stores 5 hours, which is great for the office when I'm out of range. I haven't compared vs Sirius, but it'd be nice if XM had an NBA schedule.

Love my XM too; just wish they carried NPR.
