I agree Wid, I saw Tom Petty back in July, Paul this Thursday night, and Bon Jovi coming up Nov. 2nd(not sure if I'm going yet)...

The new, state-of-the-art Wells Fargo arena will hold up to 17,000 guests for sports and entertainment events, and is a venue unlike any other in the Midwest.

The moment visitors enter the building, they will know they have walked into an extraordinary facility. The open design of the building provides great sight lines from every seat, a view of the action from concourse areas, and tremendous vistas of downtown Des Moines, including the skyline and Capitol building.

In addition to hosting large concerts and family events, Wells Fargo Arena is the permanent home of the Iowa Stars hockey organization, the top-level affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars. The building will also host the annual State Wrestling, Boys’ State Basketball, and Girls’ State Basketball Tournaments each spring.

And for those that have not been to Iowa, Des Moines actually has buildings I'm on the 30th floor of the tall building you see in this picture. My company takes up the first 30 floors of a total of 45.

I can't see you. Can you wave or something?

Brent (audio expert Brent) caught Paul in Detroit a week ago. He said, and I quote "It was a religious experience."

Sirquack,

My colleague Brent, at Axiom, who used to tour in a band playing bass, saw the McCartney concert in Detroit last week, and reports that it's terrific, perhaps the best he's ever attended. He said the sound was superb. His description even made me consider going. I think the last rock concert I attended was Neil Young at Wonderland in Toronto, maybe in the early 1990s.

Paul's playing Xcel Center tonight in Saint Paul. It's a sellout and I didn't get a ticket. (3 little kids sure cut into my concert schedule). I had an Iowa Paul experience about 15 years ago. He played the stadium at Ames-we drove down from Mpls/St. Paul and it was indeed a near religous experience.

I saw Paul McCartney a couple of weeks ago in Washington D.C.
I don't want to start chanting or anything, but it was a surreal experience for my wife and I. I was lucky to get tickets for the 2002 tour also. He is great and literally plays for 2 hours and 40 minutes without a break. It is a was fabulous.......get a ticket if you can.

He played last year's Bridge School Benefit (link about the concert here) and it was amazing. Tony Bennett was also at the show and they did a duet.
