Uh....jinx.....I, um, bought a guitar from a guy who bought it from you a few years back. I got a great price, only it doesn't go with my drum set. I hear you have a guitar that would be a perfect match for my drums. If I send you my guitar would you consider a trade for it? Huh?

You never pay retail? Do you haggle over the price of milk? bread? I honestly don't know how people put up with that.

This does bring something up I was unaware of though...Does Axiom have a "trade in" policy?.

I bought a pair of m22's about 2 yrs ago. I have been debating recenly on moving up to m60's. This could work out very nicely for me if they do offer something!

Yes it's a good deal.

You can place them pretty much anywhere, but if you've got a 7.1 system, and the QS8's are your only multi-directional surrounds, I would indeed place them at the sides and use your direct firing speakers in the rear.

Having said that, it may be fun to try them in both places and see which you prefer.

Lastly, I wouldn't ask Axiom about the swap. It's just not cool. If you'd bought product from them in the past, perhaps I can see asking for a favor, but that's not the case here.

Good luck and enjoy those new QS8's! They're killer surround speakers.

I would not consider Axiom's prices to be retail, at least in the sense of when you go to Retail Electronic stores. For the quality you get the price is very good.

I you don't want to pay regular price, buy from the outlet at 10% off.

Is this guy for real?

If the main concern is pirce and getting good deals, it would seem you done well at the $300, but we don't know if that included shipping costs. Now you have a pair of QS8 at a price you like, but you have settled for a color that is not exactly what you would care to have.
You could have purchased the speakers from Axiom (FO) with your choice of finish, free shipping, and had new out of the box speakers, for a cost of $150 more than the price you paid. Along with having the finish you want, new speakers, you would have the five year warranty, all of this adds up to a total of $2.50 per month for 60 months, the length of the warranty.
We all like to save money where we can, but for myself if I start getting to 70% for used verses price of new, I will go with new, and then I have the option of having the support from the company that made the product.
If companies like Axiom did not make a profit, and all customers tried to get the lowest prices on thier products, eventually there would not be free forums for people to use to educate themselves on what to buy. This is just my opinion, take it for whats it worth.

Yea, that's what I'd do.

When he calls Axiom to see if they will trade, I would suggest he call collect.

I am actually starting to think that old Jinx is here for comedy relief. The responses are starting to make me laugh which is a good thing! Oh well, there's one in every crowd or in this case, forum.
Cheers to all!

Also a lot of companies will not even honour a warranty for a new product not purchased at an authorized dealer.

I'd say, for the hassle, I'm sure it would be easier to paint the speakers. Jinx wants value for money. Why spend all the money on upgrading and shipping (if even an option). Painting the speakers black would be so much easier.

I remember when some friends of mine and I bought some .22 rifles with ugly wood grain stocks. We all spray painted them, mine was a gloss black, one was a frosted black and one guy painted his blue. No idea why he chose blue.

Painting the speaker boxes is the best option for Mr. Jinx.
