Can anyone tell me what kind of A/V receiver I would need that would bring out the full potential of the speakers and be safe to use with Epic 80?
I’m confused regarding Ohms and power per channel.

1. How my future receiver should be rated in Ohms considering that in Epic 80 M80ti - 4 Ohms, QS8 & VP150 - 6 Ohms and EP350 - 8 Ohms.

2. And what receiver’s power per channel should be to get as much as possible out of these speakers without blowing them up.

Could you please advise on which A/V receiver(s) would be compatible with Epic 80. Preferably, not very expensive ones.

Try doing a forum search for m80 and receiver over the past year.
You should find plenty of info on past recommendations.

I tried to find the info but there's too much of it and nothing specific.
Can anyone else comment on that in more detail?

Read through and you will find answers, explanations and some suggestions made over the past while from users who have bought and tried several receivers.

What do you mean by "not very expensive"? What is your budget? The Epic 80 package is quite a package, you're not going to want to throw a $300 receiver at it. Did you go 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 with the speakers?

If you've only got the 5.1, I'd recommend possibly going with separates. The Rotel RSP-1066 processor paired with their RB-1075 amp is a great combo, and can be had for $2500 brand new, or around $2000 +/- slightly used. If you jumped to 6.1 or 7.1 you'd need to add another amp to the mix.

He could just buy a nice A/V receiver now and add separate amps later, no?

I believe someone at Axiom told me that the procesors in my Denon receiver are quite good and I know it is capable of 7.1. I was thinking about using it as processor later if I really got geeked out on this stuff. In that case would it always sound like my current system? or would the sound take on the flavor of the new amps? or a combo of both?

Not a bad idea. I've heard nothing but raves about Denon receivers.

I'll second the Rotel RSP-1066 receiver and RMB-1075 amp, it's a great setup. If you bought the best speakers, I would go with separate components at least. I have the same setup, M80, QS-8 and VP-150, they sound great.

Also, If you haven't bought a receiver yet, the Marantz and Denon seem to be the best powered receivers.
