The downside to a single 600 as Craig mentioned, is that the 2 stacked subs will give you roughly 4 dB more output (115 vs. 111 dB from the 600).

Who in their right mind needs more than 111db of output?

Seriously.

I mean it.

Really.

Some need/want all the SPL they can get. But I agree that the 600 is a top performer on it's own, and thus my reccomendation.

Its not that you want to listen at levels way above 111db, you just want to know that even when playing at 111db and having it be perfectly clear, that you can still go louder and still be clean.

But SERIOUSLY

Who does need more than 111db. I have played my system at 110db for like 15 seconds and then brought it down like 12db (or into reality) and then giggled with the laugh that only an audio freak/geek can have.

My recommendation.

Two is better than one. Way more possibilities for getting your sound just right. Just think how much time we spend positioning one sub woofer for optimal bass and integration into our system. . .two subs and you have limitless possibilities.

Now where is that graph with one of the subs 12" out from the wall in the front left corner and the other sub 16.5 inches out from the wall and in the opposite corner both with a 25 hz bump and the crossover set to 60 hz etc etc etc etc etc etc

With the Thanksgiving Holiday I have 4 days to think of how I want to approach the wife on this one. I did just get my 2000 Silverado Z71 payed off, so I won't have that payment anymore, hmmmm. I think having the 600 would impress all my visitors, man this thing is mamouthly huge.

Dave, I like your idea of having it stand in the corner. I'll have to do some pre measuring to see what would work best. I'm sure just having the horizontal version next to my center would work as well, or have it off to the side on one of the side walls.

Since I want my center to be a little higher off the ground, could a guy use the 600 to set the VP150 on top of below the screen? Or would the VP150 get bounced off onto the floor from all of the THUMPING?

As much as the 600 weighs Randy I really don't think having anything sitting on top of it would be any problem. I remember wrastlin' with that thing for a while trying to get it unboxed and set up by myself. I probably looked just like that monkey with a football.

Every now and then I'll go to move it a little and remember just heavy it really is, it has a way of not getting moved around too much in my household!

That is ok Wid and Brother, keep rubbing it in I'm waiting for the 100's to come out...

I was thinking if I flipped the VP150 over, the two angles of the VP150 and 600 might work nicely and be pretty level, any thoughts?

I think you need a second VP to go with the 600 and 80's.
