I am at the 1 hour 14 minute mark in Million Dollar Baby and I had to turn it off. The lip sync is just unbearable. Is this a known issue with this DVD? I popped in a few others just to make sure my DVD player isn't wonky and it is not. I want to finish this movie as I really like it but the lip sync is off by at least half a second. I have tried both the Dobly 5.1 and DTS tracks and neither is synced properly.

I had an older Sony DVD player that would get out of alignment in the middle of movies. It drove me nuts because it wasn't horribly off, but just enough to make it seem like a foreign film dubbed in English. What seemed to solve it was to back up to the start of the particular chapter and it evened itself out. I finally fixed it for good by buying a Denon.

I haven't seen "Million Dollar Baby" and don't know if it is in the movie or possibly a tracking problem with your player.

I this DVD from my brother-in-law. The cover appears silk screened so I assume it is a legit copy but after watching the end credits, I am not so sure. As the credits fade in and out I pressed the pause button. I could see very serious compression artifacts like one would get saving a photo as a jpeg with a compression level of 2 out of 12. I wonder if he somehow got a hold of a boot copy? The fact that it has a silk screened cover makes me think it is real but who knows. Great movie if a little sad.

I had no issues with the DVD, either. And yes, a very excellent and sad movie. I hate that stool.

Watched it last night on a Sammy 46" DLP and Yammy RX-V657 with no problems. However, was totally surprised and blown away with the ending.

Wow, that's wild Rich!

As a kid I can remember cutting the label from a 'Meadow Gold' milk carton and using it for a free pass into the movie theatre in our small Oklahoma town to see that movie for the first time, cried my eyes out!

Good ol' Meadow Gold milk cartons, I also remember watching 'The Blob' ... little BrotherBob's feet were doing some serious dancing out of the theatre that afternoon. Great times and great movies!
