I currently have a Denon 885S and am going to be upgrading to the new Denon AVR-3806. I figure it worth it to me because my Cable Box, DVD player, and TV all support HDMI so I might aswell use the uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface that I have payed for with my componets.

Now my question is this. Are there a difference in quility when it comes to HDMI cables like there is with componet cables? If so, where is a good place online to buy some High Quility HDMI cables?

Thanks guys

HDMI is a digital cable so I guess as long as it works it works all the same. I would go for the cheapest one that looks OK - no point to pay extra.

Well the only reason I would pay extra is if there is a difference in quility. But if there all the same that I will stick with the cheapest I can find.

New, the 3806 should be excellent. As far as the cables go, it isn't clear what the basis for the comment about a difference in component cable quality is, since it's difficult to in fact find any. Reasonably priced HDMI cables are available, for example here. One point is that for very long runs(e.g. over 15')24ga is often suggested rather than one of the thinner cables, but this might not apply to your use.

Those are for if one of your units has HDMI connections but the unit your connecting it to has DVI. Like if you were connecting your dvd player to your receiver and your dvd player had HDMI connections but your receiver only had DVI, you'd use the HDMI/DVI cables.

Probably didn't explain that as well as I could of, if I didn't let me know and I'll try to better next time.

DVI is video only while HDMI includes the audio signal as well.
