I'm just about ready to buy the following:

M60ti's
VP150
EP500
S8's

It feels a little funny getting ready to spend that kind of money before I even hear these things, but I have been searching the internet high and low for the best bang for the buck system and the above appears to be it.

I've gone to the local high end stores to listen to other speakers. I liked the sound of the BW 704s (at well over twice the price of the M60ti's). Didn't like the Klips or Boston's at similar price points.

I just wondering for any one out there that may have heard both the M60s and 704s ... how do they compare?

Don't worry about taking the plunge without ever hearing the speakers, many of us did the same and never looked back. Seems like you are making an excellent choice.

There was an exact thread not too long ago with the same topic here.

I've been auditioning many different speakers lately. I really enjoyed the 704's, but not at the price they are asking. You should be happy with your M60's.

Thank you very much. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with my decision. My wife perhaps not as comfortable, but it's like those jokes men make about women "honey, guess how much money I saved shopping today"

"Honey, I'm gonna save several thousand dollars buying these axioms."

No doubt my wife will be regreting the time I asked for the nice Bose system in BestBuy. She said, we'll that's a lot of money perhaps you can check the internet for a better deal?

Okay hun, found a better deal on the internet, thanks for the advice.

That'll teach her. Lucky for you she stopped you from purchasing those Bose.

See,...now if She would have seen that new "Monster" home theaters infomertial, she would have maybe wanted them thar classy little Centra-mega-multi drivered speakers that only run something like five times as much!

Anybody else seen it??

It's a hoot!

Oh, and before I forget; the 704 is closer to the M50 while the 703 is more similar to the M60.

I auditioned the 703's and 704's. I think the M60's and M80's are very similar sounding. Personally, I think my 60's sound better overall than the 704's, at a heck of a lot less money.

I have seen and heard the 704, 703, 604 and other B&Ws. They are beautiful to look at and sound great too. My audition of the B&Ws was before I ordered Axioms for a home trial. The Axioms look good and sound similair but you get more bang for the buck with Axioms. I thought that the M60ti sounded very close to the 703s ($3000 a pair).

I am a firm believer in the home trial. Order a pair of mains abd listen at home. You will be impressed at the neutal reproductive sound of the Axiom line.

Holy crap, you have no idea how much of a deal you got with Axioms over Bose. I don't think a room full of Bose could match the sound you will have with your Axioms.

So did I... I actually liked 703s a lot, and decided to find something cheaper with similar sound, and here we go: M60s, hard to beat the price. But honestly, if I had the money USD 3,000 for 703s, that would be my speakers right now. 704s were OK, but did not have that much bass, especially in lower listening levels, and I believe they have different, inferior midrange driver than 703s.

The M50/704 & M60/703 analogy seems to be fairly accurate, except it appears in numerous accounts that, while the M50 and M60 are actually relatively close in overall sound, the differences are far more apparent in the B&W models with the 703 often refered to as "bright" and foreward and the 704 as a little TOO "laid back"

Of course these comments weren't generally forewarded by Axiom fans
