Onkyo

Picked up one of these from J&R on Monday and it arrived today. Unfortunately the day after I bought it the price dropped by $20. I'm going to call tomorrow to see if they'll adjust my credit card.

Either way it's a good deal. Seems very solid and sounds pretty good. Just using it for an upstairs stereo system at the moment but may add more speakers to try out the surround effect.

Looks like a nice solid unit bud. Congrats on your purchase.

Looks good, Lorenzo. I like the silver finish.

Lorenzo I've had a couple of Onkyo receivers in the past and at the moment I have an Onkyo TX-8211 stereo receiver connected to a couple of Pioneer book shelve speakers in the garage. I've never had a bit of trouble with any of them and I've always like their user-friendly set up and adjustments.

Congrats, that should be the perfect receiver for the bedroom! I like the silver finish as well.

Thanks guys. For $99 (maybe even $79 if they adjust my CC) I couldn't resist. I actually really think the silver color with the blue lettering looks really cool. Surprisingly it's very heavy as well so it's either got a bunch of lead weights in it or a decent power supply. It replaces the old Teac 3 cd, double cassette all in one "thingy" that I was using with some 2 way speakers I aquired from the local futureshop a couple of years back. They're not M3tis but with the Onkyo they are singing pretty nicely.

I use an Onyko 502 that I got in trade with a friend of mine (BB). It is hooked up to the Hsu Ventrioquist system and a Hsu VTF-2. For the money spent on this little H/T system it sounds pretty darn impressive. You're going to enjoy that unit.

Well as usual J&R are up to par when it comes to service. They adjusted the price of the receiver without hesitation and thanked me profusely for my business. By the way in case anyone is interested the receiver is back in stock at $79.99 with free shipping in the U.S.

Enjoy your day!!!

Lorenzo I bought my HK 635 through them, Thanks to Mr. JohnK for the tip btw, and was really pleased with the transaction and service.

Glad to hear they treated you good!

Wow, that's tempting. If only I had a signal between the two rooms, that receiver would be great.

Well, and decent speakers for the office...
