I've recently became aware of Axiom speakers. They are priced very well, and have caught my attention. However, being that they are only available online, I'm wondering what speakers they are compable to? I've read many comments saying they are very similar to Paradigm Monitor speakers. I've never heard the Monitors before, but I have auditioned Paradigm Studio speakers many times, and I've never been really impressed with them. They've always seemed too bright.

I do, however, like a detailed speaker though. I currently have B&W 600 Series 3 speakers for a multichannel system and JMlab Electra 906 speakers for a 2 channel system. I'm thinking about selling my B&W's, and buying some more JMlab speakers to make a HT. And at the same time, I would like to buy a fairly small multichannel system for my computer, and Axioms speakers seem to fit the bill very well. However, I'm concerned they might be too bright. Is it true that they are similar to Paradigms?

Zaz,
Everyone has their own opinions but just offhand i would say if you found the Paradigms to be bright, you probably would not enjoy the Axioms very much. They might not be bad just for a computer system though depending on how much you listen to mp3s or cds in your 'office'.
I hear these new Rocket speakers are pretty laid back. You could also give them a look.

To say the Rockets are laid back is like saying Mike Tyson has a few issues...it's a MAJOR understatment.

From all the speakers I listened to before I bought the M22ti's there were only a few which could compare anywhere near there price range.

Try these...

Energy Connoisseur
Ascend Accoustics
NHT

Good luck, and have fun shopping!

The more i hear about how laid back these Rockets are, the more i want to hear them next to the Axioms, just out of curiousity.

Just how laid back can a speaker really get?
I suppose if you removed the tweeter entirely....
maybe stuffed in a rag instead like you just lost your gas cap or something...

When I heard the RS150's it sounded like the singer's voice was coming from the room nextdoor, with the door closed. THAT laid back.

Compare Axiom to the Paradigm reference...not the monitor.
