It was time to get back to working on the tile for the kitchen and then finish up the marble tile for the rest of the first floor area. Started after Christmas and progress is slow as I keep adding things as I work. The next 3 pics are before starting with the tile.

The next three pics are of the progress as of this morning. I decided to add the grantie tile for the toe kick area of the cabinets and as a base trim around the island. Since the counter tops and all of the solarium is of the same granite, seems like this will help make the transition from the two areas rather seamless. The unfinished wall (solarium side) to the left is still waiting for the grainite tile, and now have decided to wrap the grainte around that wall to the kitchen side.

So for the past several days have been thinking of how to solve the pantry door issue, as the grainte tile on the wall could be a conflict of sorts. Well at Home Depot yesterday picking up some sponges, I found a solution the door issue. A wine cooler has been on the request list from Ken for a long time, so with a few measurments and some thinking, decieded to add it now.

The cooler has two areas that have storage for 18 bottles each, seperate temp controls for each area (red/white wines). The interior lights are on a seperate power button, the the blue display times out after two minutes of no activity. This was rather important as they are rather bright at night, and could be a problem when the big screen/projector go in. The cooler will be trimed out and the space above it will be converted to wine glass storage.......in my spare time. Any and all comments are welcome, the interior designer is visiting today to give her opinion.....but rather late to change much. lol

Great looking cabinets.
When did you get Rockets?
And more importantly, what did you do with the M80s?

I must say Denis, with your cabinetry skills and the things you¡¦ve done to that home, I just can¡¦t believe you didn¡¦t make the cooler yourself. I guess you¡¦re human after all.

The black boarder looks great between the two contrasting tile colors. I enjoy tile work. Out of all the different crafts / trade skills involved with building my home, I liked the tile work the best.

Ya, what¡¦s up with the rockets?

I changed over to the darkside about 10 weeks ago, the reason for changing was I had wanted wood cabinets, but they were simply not in the budget at the time. Financial situation changed, so went with the Rockets, of course as soon as the Rockets were here, I find out Axiom is going to make wood cabinets, seems at times one can't win.
As for the 80s and Qs, I sold them to friends and did very well in the return on the investment, but I still have the twin 600s and not changing to differant subs. Still have the W3s upstairs, so still have some Axioms.

I listened to The RS1000s about a year ago and really liked them.
They were in loft with cement floors, walls, ceiling, and staircases.
A VERY "reflective" or "live" room.
The only thing I didnt like about them is that side woofer grill kept popping off.

Have had no problem with the grills on the 1ks, sounds like a problem that should have been reported to Rocket.

Yep. Wood finishes are coming any time now.
It was reported that they would make their debut sometime mid Jan.

Early on (nov-dec 04?) there were a few owners reporting the "flying" grille phenomenon on the RS1k's. I haven't heard anything like that in quite some time. Looks like they've remedied the problem.

VERY nice. I thought you were going to put the EP600s in the kitchen so the bass would show up in the living room instead of the computer room. The wine coolers could go in the living room where the EP600s are now.

By way of explanation, Dennis seems to have some interesting acoustical things going on. The house is very open in design, so the bass doesn't stay in the living room like it is supposed to

Thank you to all with the nice compliments, much appreicated. There are days its hard for me to see the progress.

Actually the twins are out in the solarium now, and in the second location attpemt with the aid of the SMS-1. Has been about a month at that location, and seems to be the best so far, solved a lot of the issues of where they were in the family room. When time permits, still want to try them other than co-located, something like: 600 - 850______________850 - 600, with some distance between the 850s. To make it simple, the subs and rear 850s together, rather than the twins off in the corner by themselves. *shrug*

Sorry for the hijack, Dennis. Lovely tile work btw. I bet it looks better in person. Seriously I really do admire your workmanship.

My avatar... Looks good. Although not my favorite of her.

Lovely as a blonde. I really like this one. Very pleasing to look at.

Don't forget to click on this one. I like her best with dark hair. Ok...um...she could be a blonde, brunette, redhead in this shot...I'm not complaining.

I've always been partial to brown eyes and dark hair myself. My wife is Polish but most everybody mistakes her for Hispanic, very dark hair and brown eyes. They have a tendency to turn red at times though, not too often anymore since I've settled down a little.

I like Anna Farris as a blond - which I think she is naturually (?).

She was in the Scary Movie franchises, in which she was pretty funny. I like how willing she is to embarrass herself and put herself into "gross" situations (usually involving bodily functions). Combined with her overall cuteness, her attitude makes her really sexy. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's got a great body and a pretty face, too...

I didn't like her as much on Friends....

For all of these months, though, I must admit that I did not recognize your icon as Anna... she's somewhat of a cameleon in those photos.

Brady, according to IMBd, she played the character "Erica" on Friends in 2004. I have not seen these episodes.

Capn, first time I had ever seen or heard of this fine woman was in scary movie. She had dark hair at the time. I've been transfixed ever since. I do agree with the rest of you, I'm starting to like the blonde Anna more than ever.

Maxim sure does a good job at making wholesome girls look lke complete tramps, don't they? In a good way, I mean. Anna Farris in the back of the limo in that link looks like a rather mid-priced hooker. Not that it decreases my desire to eff her at all....

It was either discuss kitchen tile or Anna Farris. I think we chose wisely.
