The only time you can conclusively say a speaker is breaking in is when you catch it jimmying the lock on your neighbor's car.

Hey Richie, comments on "breaking in" are not quite welcomed here, I don't know if you have noticed it already.

Well, when the guy that designs and sells the speakers says that there is no break-in period, I have a tendency to believe him over subjective opinions over days, weeks or months...

It will be very interesting to have a link of any piece of written interview on "break in" from Ian (I would assume he is the designer of Axioms).

However, I have read in many occasions very specific instructions on break in period from well-known speaker manufacturers (B&W for example). Not to mention electronics.

Well, there's an advantage to a manufacturer telling you this. If you're a little unsure of your satisfaction, being told "wait a month or two" has advantages from the manufacturer's point of view. I've seen the link to Ian's comments previously.... let me do a search.

Thyname:

I have noticed that "break in" and "bi-amping" are controversial topics on this forum! :-)

I have read about the "break in" period for both amplifiers and speakers in other places. I assume it is not all fiction! :-)

Haven't found Ian's post yet, but here's one from Alan in the meantime.
