I am on a business trip this week and as I sit here at the hotel checking Axiom's board I think to myself... Hmmm. I wonder if there an another Axiomite near here....

Just checking for curiosity sake.

Bugbitten is about 150 miles down route 41 in Madisonville, but I wouldn't call that "near."

Jack, I drive 105 miles each way to and from work so 150 miles isn't really *that* far either, I'd do it in a heartbeat ... well, actually a Ford.

My Father-in-law used to drive about 70 each way, and an aquaintance used to drive 90 and change(expressway all the way)but 105 pretty much beats anyone else I know!

Woah...can't imagine what that was like in the days of the double nickel speed limit
Rich.

'Who's the best pilot you ever saw?' Never mind.

Rich I set my cruise at 80 on I-95 and set it on 70 (that's pushing it with the cops though) for the back roads and have only been stopped a couple of times in the past 4 or so years....only one ticket doing 52 in a 35 mph zone, everybody else had let me slid. (so far)
I do an hour from my house on A1A, 7 miles south of Sebastion Inlet, through Vero and to the Stuart exit (SR76) and do another 45 minutes on the back roads to Belle Glade. I've passed police on 95 with my cruise set on 80 and they've never glanced my way...do above 80 and they'll nail you though.

One of the fellas I worked with had managed to buy himself a home in a community with it's own private airstrip!!

It was great!

The ONLY place he couldn't get to on a daily basis was to work!!

We could launch and recover aircraft on company property, and DID! But they were all vertical take off and landing designs!!

Our bud had to land conventionally. And I'll bet Rick does too!
Rich.

My last 8,500 or so hours have been in the 'conventional' position Rich, I fly a Maule and a J3 for 'people' flying and sometimes I wonder if I can handle anything with the tailwheel up front anymore. Whew.

Is your bud's fly-in community down our way?

I tracked out your route; Rick,....good gosh!!

I bow to your patience behind the wheel!

Words escape me....just can't imagine!!

Sorry for the delay in posting this....but the kids hollered out during Superbowl half time:

"Papa! the STONES!!"

I took my chair back.

To say "Good gosh" twice in one evening is rare!
Rich.
