Approx. what sg.ft. would be considered a medium sized room? I'll take it that above and below represent large and small respectively.

For what purposes? Those terms are all relative, and without a specific context being provided, no "universal" definitions are useful...

As in the 22 are good for a small room, but should your room be mid to large, consider the 60 or 80. Of course it's relative, that's my point. Thanks sushi, you've been helpful.

I see... It depends on your listening habits. I would say, if you tend to listen at modest volume levels, the M22 (with a sub) would be fine for room volume of up to 2000~3000 cu. feet. If you wish to fill the room with near-reference level sound, you may want to go with the floorstanding model even for these room sizes.

I guess chesseroo, spiffnme, and other M22 or M60/80 owners will fill-in here soon.

I would say my 23X13 room is medium sized. I have M60's,
3-QS8's, VP150 and the EP175. I couldn't be happier.

I have a med/largish room with the M22's and a Hsu sub. It sounds wonderful. But to be completely honest, the M60's sound even better. Unless you're in a really small room, or simply cannot afford the extra $400, I'd say you'll be happier with the M60's.

Well...I take that back...for music you'll be happier with the M60's. The M22+sub will still kick your butt for HT.

Of course, there's always the consideration of what an S.O. (if applicable) would think about towers vs. bookshelves + large black box.
