For what it's worth, here are the latest progress photos just in case anyone is interested (perhaps interested, but none are as excited as I am getting to hear my Axioms for the first time)!

My plan is to work on installation of the ceiling all day on Thursday (sofa comes later in the day) and finish up ceiling on Friday.

Saturday will be the day to finally start bringing things out of storage and begin hooking them up!

It sure sounds and feels different down there than it did this morning! Right now I've got about a 1.5 second 'clap' echo. I sure hope ceiling, furniture and wall decor help to mute it or I'm going to be in accoustical hell!

Back to work!

NOTE - distortion in photos is due to the way in which individual photos were stitched together. The software has a problem with merging photos taken from closer than 50 feet.

Great looking area!!! Congrats on making it to the completion stage, I'm jealous, wish I was as close to being finished.

Looks very nice! Great job. I'm sure the furniture will make a big difference on the echos.

Having rebuilt my basement last year I know how exciting it can be towards the end. My only advise is don't rush it.

Dang Spence you might beat me. We just ordered our carpet.... Hey in regards to the pad, did you just go with a standard rebond pad with spill guard? Every carpet place tells us a different story on what pad we should use for our basement.

Thanks for the kind reviews!

We picked out one of the darker Berbers at Home Depot while they were running a 10% off sale on flooring. We had decided on stepping up on padding by one level before we even talked to a sales person.

Received an additional 10% off and 12 month's no intrest by opening up a HD account.

I'm still a bit worried about the echos, but remember what our home sounded like before we moved into it (one year ago on Thursday).

The area off to the back left, sits about five feet further left of the main wall, it has a short hallway to the mechanical room with a 3/4 bath to the right of the hallway. I hope this asymetrical layout won't adversly effect the accoustics of the room too much. I've heard that QS8s are very forgiving.

Cheers!

Spence

Looks really nice. I wish we had basements down here in Louisiana, but the only thing we would be able to use them for would be as indoor swimming pools.

Looks good Spence! Bare rooms are always an acoustic nightmare. You gotta get some stuff in there--furniture, bookshelves, people, etc. I put up acoustic treatments in the corners of my room and it really helps with the echo thing.

Looking mighty fine there Spence!

We are just about on the same time frame for being finished with our room as well. The A/V wallplates are getting installed this morning along with the delivery of the new TV and the carpet is getting installed tomorrow morning ... after that it's baseboards, a few other odds 'n ends and it's a done deal in a couple of days after four grueling months of labor.
