That’s what the little lady told me last night. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard those words from a woman and I have to admit, it put quite a spring in my “macho man walk” today!

To bad she was referring the EP 600 that I got in the mail yesterday………………

……………..I can’t believe I’ve been out done by a sub woofer.

Yes Mike, it is huge! In fact so huge that Dennis has two of them...

What do you think of the ep600 so far?

Congrats Dude! You and the little Misses are absolutely correct about that thing being huge, that *thing* being the 600, of course.
I just did move mine into the our new dedicated room a couple of days ago and was darned near put out to pasture after moving it into the room and then playing around with various locations in the room for best sound. "Not tonight Honey ... I've got a 600."

Oh yea, while I'm here and we're talking about the little Misses.

This past weekend I got my system set up in the new room, the 600 ended up in the right front corner beside and a little behind my RF 80. While my own lovely little Misses and myself were sitting on the couch listening to music in our new found bliss she looks over at me and says "You know it would look much better if you had another 600 in the other corner to match". After picking myself up and off of the floor I did also find the new carpet and pad to be pretty darned comfy.

Alright Rick, you've officially turned your wife into a bass head. Kudos to you. Does she have a sister? hehe

Right on Rick! Now you just need to get her on dirt bikes so you can get a new one!

So how big is your room? I plan to have the 600 sitting in the corner beside the 80 like you did. But my room’s only 12 X 16 and I’ve already got way too much sound for it. A second 600 would be insane.

To the question, “How do you like it?”……….I don’t. I love it!

The 500 was a great sub, no doubt about it. And when I first fired up the 600 I had trouble telling any difference between the two. It seamed to have a little more presence and just seamed to be “smoother”, but not a night and day or dramatic difference between the two. That was the impression I got from the first night watching The Fifth Element.

Last night however, I double checked the settings on the sub because I had a spontaneous realization (happens from time to time). It occurred to me that I didn’t check the sub’s X over knob and make sure it was in bypass. – It wasn’t in bypass and was set to 40 (plus the AVR was set to all speakers small and at 80). I put it in bypass and threw in a couple DVD’s. Now I can say that there is a significant improvement over the 500. I really don’t how to describe it other that to say that the 600 is much “smoother”. It hits hard, but not edgy or rough. The LFE’s are just “there” in a HUGE way, but without being rude about it. The 500 is just a bit less refined, more abrupt and slightly immature compared to its big brother.

I guess bigger is better, once you learn how to use it

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

It is an excellent subwoofer. We watched, of all things, "A Knight's Tale" last night. I never knew this movie had so much LFE in it. The jousting scenes are a new experience with an EP-600.

Some guys have two ?
