I believe DTS aquired Lowry Digital in January.

I had no interest in seeing "Kong", but after it beat out War of the Worlds at the Oscars last night (for sound editing), I think I may have to check it out.

I was disappointed by Kong. Every scene with dinosaurs in it felt like it had been done for the sake of CG and not for story.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll probably just skip it after all, then.

On recommendation from a friend, my wife rented "Rent" last night. Not ever having seen the musical, we had no idea what to expect. Although the vocal clarity sounded amazing, I do grow tired of running dialogue within a song. Other than that, for me it was just "OK".

i was planning to get the kong dvd when it comes out around end of this month (still haven't seen it yet). I'll be getting it around the same time as my axiom speakers.

But a good musical is 'moulin rouge', maybe i'll rent 'rent'.

Kong was about 40 minutes too long. Cutting out the dinosaur chase scenes would have been a good thing. The insect scene however was quite effective and a keeper. I'll probably be watching this one again at home so that I can hear the soundtrack. When I saw it in the theater, the sound was awful. I could hear the LFE coming from the theater next to us more than I heard anything from the movie we were watching.

It's funny, now that I have my new setup, I'm almost more intersted in the movies sound than it's actual content.

Me too, loved the movie.
