i was watching one of those dubbed shaolin movies when the sound suddenly went dead.....all that fist fighting and no sound....thought maybe its one of those "cheap" dvds....so changed the dvd and again no sound.....changed couple more dvds that i have watched with sound earlier and again no sound....decided to check the C1 controller and found that optical cable was bent rather acutely.....tried to play around it but no result......decided that maybe the cable is bad and replaced with analog cables.......again no result.....now i don't know what to do...plan to buy the new optical cable tonight and try.....any ideas ??

When you tried switching to analog cables, did you remember to reassign your inputs?

i thought the controller should be able to detect the "new" signal.......but maybe i will try that.....but is it possible for the optical cable to go bad just like that??

I think you have a choice between coaxial and toslink. You may have to reassign the output.

I would recommend coaxial. You most likely will not hear any difference whatsoever because they both are digital.

Coaxial is a much more robust cable as well.
