All you need to do is cut a peice of carpet or get a small throwrug to match your room and you are all set for the sub.
Actually, HSU recommends using a medium-thick carpet under the sub, that's how it was designed to work acoustically.

Is it better to use a natural fiber rug or synthetic? What if I throw a sheepskin under there?
