Wondering what that gold cd in the picture of the M60's and M80's is. Anyone know?

Believe that is there for size comparison, as a reference..

I would assume he's aware that it's there for size reasons but is curious if it is a specific disk. It would be a neat little piece of trivia.

You know what they say about assuming?

If it's for size reference why is it ONLY in the pictures of the M60 and M80?

Some years back, there were a number of disks with their claim to fame being the 'direct to disk' recording session..
They were released with a solid gold top, and if memory serves, used a layer of gold within the disk to increase the disks quality ? I'm sure Alan would have the scoop on that..
As to the actual title, if Amie gets ahold of this thread, it will no doubt turn into a contest :-)
Bring it on baby !!

Ah, the disc! It's our favourite local band, Boyce's Road (www.boycesroad.com). They're a great Toronto band who cottages on the lake with us and who named themselves after the road their cottage is on. They play a live party at our dock every year with lots of friends and family. But yes, it is there just to size the speakers.

Ah, that could be the prize for the next contest! Attendance at Ian & Amie's dock party for you and 10 of your closest friends!! And to top it off, you get to take home their personal speaker setup afterward!!

It could very well have been a demo disc to play with your new speakers. Hsu sends a demo disc with his subs. Test tones, and about a dozen tracks of music. I thought it may have been something like that.

My demo disc from Hsu was a pipe organ performance. People who say "I don't want a sub because I don't listen to pipe organ recordings" haven't listened to this recording on a good sub. :-)

Isn't it funny how desperate we've become ? We scour your web site searching for anything to type about.. Give us something !! ANYYYYYTHING !!!
A wisper on some new speaker design.. Or purhaps a clue to the next amp/speaker combo ? How about some facts or figures on the workings of the factory ?
I got it, a mystery photo of some piece of gear.. If the gold cd filled up this much space, imagine what a spy shot would do ???
Come on Amie, you know you want to slip us a little secret or two ??? Right ?? haha..
We promise, we will NEVER tell Ian.. You can trust us, eh..

Mikey, I'll be in Huntsville around August 8th. I'll take my digital camera & swing by the factory. You think Amie will let me anywhere past the front lobby?

Hey that could be a contest - the first person to show up at the factory wins a VP150 & a set of QS8's! (Black Oak please)

Hmmm . . . secret . . . okay, just between us, we're about a month away from releasing our first line of cables! Ian and Alan are finishing final tests on them and they look pretty cool (at least to my untutored eye. Come to think of it, I've never actually been cable shopping.) You won't tell, right?

Uh... excuse me but Amy, you need some tutorial on how to lie or “prevaricate” more skillfully.

Maybe, if you market them as transmitting the music at Ludicrous Speed.

Ian built the neatest equipment rack - I'll have to take a pic for you! The projector is awaiting a few adjustments, so that pic will have to wait. Of course we're using Acoustic Zen cables on all our connections (tee hee! Can you imagine?!) Suffice to say you need to picture a motorized arm dropping the projector down from 21 feet into proper viewing position . . . plaid cables everywhere . . .

Acoustic Zen?!!!
Please tell me they were promotionally 'free' gifts in exchange for some speakers or something.
Ouch.

I notice that company is located in San Marcos, CA., home to the fine San Marcos Brewpub. Maybe the CEO of that Zen company has had a few too many hefeweizens.

My M60's came with a nifty full color axiom brochure. I noticed that the cables in the pictures actually had "Axiom" on the connectors. Hmmmm... anyone else have a copy of this brochure? Take a close look.

Amie, how about sending ME a copy, too? Or, if you have a PDF version, PLEASE link it here.

I don't have it any more. I gave it to KCSkins when he came over to listen to my M60's. Perhaps if he still has it, he could scan it. ??

I just looked at a manual - only one of the cables looks like the new Axiom ones. Still want a scan?
