Peter, I think "well met" might be better. That cellar is staggering. Many thousands of dollars worth of beer, for sure.

John, the only Unibroue beers I ever see are the corked 750ml ones.

I've recently purchased some barleywines as I continue my experimentation with new beer. Report to follow.

In the same purchase, I have enjoyed an Anderson Milk Stout, a New World porter, and, my new favorite, the Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout. I searched and saw that it is not a stranger to you'uns, as bigwill and pmbuko have talked highly of it. Very tasty!

Crazy how this thread has become reference material. I wonder if it's ever been cited by a non-member...

I rated this thread a 5 star.
It now has over 63,000 views.
Lots of great beer choices and ideas here, if only they sold them locally.

Correction to the above: a Lancaster (PA) Milk Stout. Also tasty, but a little plain. AVBC rules! Plus they have a disc golf course at the brewery. That's just too wild. Any disc golfers here 'sides myself?

SAD NEWS ABOUT BEER

You have to hope this study is flawed, but the evidence is irrefutable. A group of scientists for Health Canada suggested that, considering the results of recent analysis that revealed the presence of FEMALE HORMONES in beer, men should take a hard look at their beer consumption.

Believe it or not, the theory is that drinking beer makes MEN TURN INTO WOMEN.

To test the theory, 100 men were fed 6 pints of beer within a one-hour period. It was observed that: 100% of the men gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became overly emotional, couldn't drive, failed to think rationally, argued over nothing, and refused to apologize when proven wrong.

No further testing is planned.

Excellent, Michael!

I've been enjoying a Costco case of Rogue American Amber ale recently. Not as sweet and rich as the Lagunitas Censored Rich Copper Ale (which I like VERY much), but along the same lines. The Rogue has their typical hop tang and aftertaste, but is nicely balanced.

I've also been quoting Stone Brewing more and more lately - Fizzy Yellow Beer is for Wussies.

I was pleasantly surprised to acquire a bottle of the 2006 Stone Vertical Epic Ale. It certainly won't last 6 years at my house.

I enjoyed a bottle of Rogue Imperial Stout with my roommate yesterday. Tasty!

Tonight it's Fuller's London Porter - a random choice from the local BevMo. Haven't opened it yet but I'm looking forward to it!

Looks like I'll be going out for a couple tall Sapporo's as soon as the wife gets home. Sushi night for the family

I shared a Stone IPA with my wife this afternoon -- paired well with hot dogs -- and both of us agreed that it was fantastic. We're both fans of 'big' IPAs and this one exceeded our expectations. Giant hop flavor up front and a nice hop decay in the aftertaste. Too bad it's the only Stone variety I've been able to find out here.
