Hi all. This is my first post. I was researching speakers and axiom is all over the internet. Never heard of them- that is the brand or the speaker. I have Polks and I like them and I am in the market for another setup. Does anybody know how the Axioms stack up against Polk?

Welcome TurnItUp
![]() I can tell you about 2 years ago, I had never heard of Axiom speakers either until I started reading reviews on various AV websites. I've owned many brand speakers in the past, and I'll tell ya my Axioms aren't going anywhere, unless "Wid" talks me into M80's. ![]() I know the Polk VS Axiom conversation has come up many times on this forum. I bet if you use the Search feature and look for RTi10 or RTi12, you'll find your information. My recollection is that overall Axiom's have been favored, not so say Polk makes bad speakers, they don't. Axiom has been around for 30+ years, and is one of Canada's leading audiophile speaker manufacturers. The speakers are fabulous and the Axiom customer service after the sale is second to none, in my opinion. Another option is to check out the Audition thread in the "Hearing Things" section, there might be someone in your area willing to give you a listen to these babies. ![]() Randy m60's vp150 ep500 4-Qs8's Denon 2805 Sanyo Z2 Projector Prismasonic H600M anamorphic lens Ahanix D4 HTPC Dazian 2.35 10ft Screen

Welcome Turn_It_Up, I can't say I've heard the Polks, but the Axioms Imho are just plain great speakers, they have stood up to every speaker I have heard, many costing twice the price.
With the 30 day return you might wanna just give them a listen if you can't audition anywhere.

Welcome!!
I had not heard of Axiom much before I bought my speakers either. I liked what I read. I liked what I saw on this board. And, I liked their company policies. First, I bought the VP-150 just to test the company and see how the speaker "sounded." Then, I bought the M80s. A month or so later, I bought the QS8s and stands. I have been very please with my purchases.

I have listend to some Polk Lsi 25s, I beleive that was the model. The thing that I noticed right away was how laid back their sound was. It's not that they sounded bad but it was as if their sound was kind of distant compared to the Axioms. The highs and mids were no where near as clean and crisp as my M80s are. The Polks had a fair amount of bass as do the M80s. One other difference was the price, the Polks being double what the Axioms were.
If you do indeed like to "turn it up" then I would without a doubt recommend a set of M80s. Randy, you know you need a set of 80s in that huge but beautiful theater room of yours ![]()

So how much longer do you think Randy can hold out before getting the 80's?

I tell ya Mike, I'm so happy with my 60's not sure when/if it will happen. I suppose at some point in the future when I get some of these bills paid down, I might Upgrade.
![]() Ooops, I used the word Upgrade, I don't want to be reminded what Webster's definition is again. ![]()

I listened to them before ordering 60s.
The best bet is to try them at home. 30 days. |

Thanks for the replies. The further I research this stuff the more confused I get. There's seems to be other "online" brands as well. Have you all heard of "Asperion"? I don't know - maybe I will trial the Axiom's for 30 days. I guess I need to decide between the 60's and the 80's.
