I don't know if you guys have heard, but a Taylor University van was hit by a semi, killing four students and one staff member, injuring four others, two are in critical condition.

Helicopters are flying all around ahead, it's crazy here. School has been cancelled for two days.

Life is short.

That's very sad to hear, especially whenever young people are involved.

Driving 200 miles a day to and from work I can first hand attest that by far the scariest part of my day is trying to maneuver myself as far away from tractor trailers on the highway as I can. For some reason they don't seem to mind taking up as much road as they can possibly get away with...which can be a lot of real estate at times.

Condolences to the families and friends.

Very sad indeed, they were just kids

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Sad, but not all that surprising.

Trauma is the number 3 killer in the U.S. behind cardiovascular disease and cancer. It is the number 1 killer of people under 45. It costs us more years of life than cardiovascular disease and cancer combined. It costs more money than either cardiovascular disease or cancer. Yet, it receives less than 1% of the research funding of either cardiovascular disease or cancer because we view it as "accidents" or "acts of God" when in fact the majority of the "accidents" are easily preventable. Most of these tragedies could be easily avoided.

I'll get off my soapbox now and just say that I feel for their friends and families.
