I currently have a stereo set-up with the M22 as fronts and the EP500 as the sub. I was wondering how people were setting this up. My fronts are set to small and the crossover is 100. What are others doing? Additionally, if anyone has a Pioneer VSX-72TXV receiver, is there anyway to get to set the fronts to small and get sound to the bass. I'm having problems.

Many of us keep our speakers set at small and the sub crossover at 80.

I agree, the 22's can go lower than 100, you might want to try 80hz or even 60hz on your receiver for the crossover. Make sure you have the crossover on the 500 set to bypass then. I would also say try small for the 22's. I use small for my m60's.

I've found that setting the crossover for my M22's to 60 and setting them as small sounds the best for my system.

Small and 80 has worked best for me. I wouldn't recommend setting the speakers to large. They can't reproduce those frequencies so why try and make them?

I agree, if you read the lates newsletter from Alan, it clearly explains bass mgmt/crossover settings.

By the way, even though I have 60's, I still use Small with 80hz crossover.

I have a feeling that the unforgotten audio component: The Room! Has a lot to do with it.

My Room Absolutely STINKS!!

I have tried and tried to conform by setting everything to "small" and crossing at 80hz, but I keep going back to "large" and crossing my M50s and M3s at 60hz cuz in this sucky room it just SOUNDS BETTER!!

.....I did have some pretty major EQ settings dialed in, but over time I've pretty much gotten the sound back to where the speakers sound like the speakers, and that IS an improvement!!

I agree, I'm going to rerun the realtraps and compare my graphs both ways...I'm guessing I'll get a flatter response with the 60's helping out with the large room.
