In reply to:

Some of these notions may look good on paper, but I don't know that I could "hear" the difference.

There is a definite difference between bipole and dipole modes when the speakers are mounted to the sides of your listening spot. Because dipole mode puts the drivers out-of-phase, the sound seems to come from both in front of you and behind you, but not from the speakers themselves. If you stand directly in front of a surround speaker in dipole mode, you'll experience that somewhat uncomfortable phasy effect where the sound appears to come from everywhere but the speaker.

Bipole mode, on the other hand, has all drivers operating in-phase and therefore doesn't produce that non-localizable effect.

Both modes still spread the sound around since the drivers are firing in opposite directions.

I was being sarcastic and misquoting as you did me. I thought it was obvious?

LOL, well as I said it was meant to be sarcastic and a dig. Still, he misquoted the hell out of me proving that he can't get his facts straight and if it's any indication of his reporting skills, look out!

I just get bent when I see people state things as fact and misinform others. It's a peave of mine that just gets under my skin.

A pet peeve of mine is when people spell common words incorrectly. If that's any indication of your thinking skills, look out! ...

See how ridiculous this antagonism can get, and quickly? Push your chair away from your keyboard, look out the window (if you're lucky enough to have one), take a few deep breaths, and then think about whether or not it's worth it to raise your hackles about something that was obviously a mistake. There are better ways to correct misinformation than the method you employed.

I don't know what's up with you pmbuko, I just corrected some misinformation that was given as fact, it wasn't a mistake, it was stated as fact. To attack someone over something as trivial as common words even a spell checker can miss is ridiculous. I was in a hurry earlier, so excuse my spelling. I just tried to help the OP with the correct info, I then get attacked and then you try to insult me. You're right about one thing, time for me to quit trying to help and just leave this forum. Typical internet attitudes, I'd like to see these attitudes attempted in real life.

And again, we see misinterpretation. Peter was engaging in hyperbole to prove a point with the second part of that first line.

Please don't leave over something as trivial as this.

Your initial post correcting the information was fine, but as soon as you dropped a "lmao" you went from correcting to ridiculing.

And if you didn't read my entire previous post, then that explains your misinterpretation.
