I was looking at the new Axiom brackets for the QS speakers. Exactly where does the bracket mount to the QS speaker? I was looking at the back of my QS8s, and didn't see a place for the bracket to attach.

I assume you would remove the bolt that is screwed into the fastener on the back of the Q's, place it through the hole in the ceiling bracket, back into the Q's ,and tighten.

The new brackets attach to the speaker same as the FMB, uses the bolt on the speaker as Randy stated.

Are you guys talking about the one small, hex head bolt that is just above the port/ indentation for the speaker wire connections?

If so, that doesn't seem like a very robust mechanical connection.

That's it.

Remarkably, we've had no reports of Qs coming crashing down on people. <rollseyes>

That is what is holding all of my 4 Qs8's to my DIY ceiling mount. That is the purpose of the bolt. There is a threaded steel insert on the inside of the cabinet that the hex bolt fastens to, more than enough strength. Also, we are not talking about cheap quality steel, the bolts are industrial grade.

Since Axiom installed the mounting bolt and speakers have the five year warranty, I would not be concerned about it. Before I replaced the VP150 it was held up by the FMB and had no problems.

That one little hex bolt just did not look strong enough. Oh well, such is life!!!

It's about the same size as the bolts that raise and lower the 300 lb deck of the mower I helped Lisa's brother disassemble today... different grade bolts, of course, but...

But, you said bolts, as in more than one! LOL!!!!

When it comes to mounting things, I like to have at least two connectors. That way, a single point failure doesn do you in.
