Hi all! Just got my new TV installed. I assembled the Omnimount shelf for my center channel (VP150) only to notice once I put the CC on top of the TV, the weight of the CC is pushing down the top of the TV frame (con-caved).
My wife will not go for a CC stand in front of the rack, so that is out of the question. My only option I think is to return the VP 150 and by the VP100 so I can fit it in the center shelf of my rack. Is there a BIG difference between the 150 and 100?

My wife also hates having the CC in front of her rack. j/k lol
There has to be other options for mounting the CC above your TV. I am sure aothers will chime in soon.
Good luck

Not sure I follow your problem, can you post a pic as Dennis has mentioned? I think others are using the omnimount method with no problems

what if you replace that wood shelf above the tv w/ a shelf just for the CC? B-Tech has a set called the BT-15 that would work. I actually have 2 unused sets if you're interested. PM me.

I would replace the little wooden shelf above the TV with something more substantial for both the CC and the plant. You could make a nice looking 4-5' wide shelf about 12-15" deep with some sturdy brackets. Gets the speaker off the TV and looks more finished.

Don,

Take a look at this mount .I bought this size for a 46 pound center.

There is a smaller size available that should work for the VP150. Google the manufacturer/model number and you'll get a better price than BB.

You can see my setup with the mount in this thread in the 6th and 8th pictures.

The arm attached to the wall pivots and the tray (has a small lip on the front) the speaker sits on tilts. I put a stud in during construction specifically for mounting this puppy. The VP 150 is substantially lighter than my CC, so toggle bolts should work for you. The speaker essentially blocks any view of the mount and the CC appears to be floating from the seating position.

Hope the input is helpful.

Ray
