Is it possible to hook up outside speakers using the Multi-Zone feature in the Denon 3805? I would like to be able to listen to a CD outside while my kids are inside watching TV. Can this be done? The 3805 manual may as well be written in a foreign language.
Thanks for any assistance or tips you may have in doing this.

While I haven't tried it myself, everything I've read leads me to believe that the answer is "yes", as long as the source you wish to play in zone 2 or 3 is providing an analog signal. Maybe this will help.

W, after you also asked this a month ago apparently that manual still caused a problem, so I took a look now. The link that moridin gave has good hints and specifically in the manual see on p.70 the second diagram from the right in (2)showing the zone 2 connection with regular speaker wire(disregard the TV and special remote shown). Once that connection from the terminals usually used for back surrounds in a 7.1 setup is made see p.45 for assigning the back surround amp channels instead to zone 2. Then see p.71 in remote section (2) to select zone 2, put source on and select the CD button to play as the zone 2 source.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.
