Would anyone be able to recommend a unit that can house the HK with relative ease? I would like it to be 'open' as far as letting heat escape, since the HK generates enough heat to warm up a small room. I have been to multiple furniture stores...and found nothing of interest. I have checked av123.com, BB, CC, Target, Levitz, etc. etc. and haven't found a unit that can hold the weight. That's my biggest concern...as well of the size of the piece of furniture. I guess my search will continue...but I thought I might ask...especially those that have a 75+ lbs. piece of equipment. Any ideas? TIA....

Have you tried Racks and Stands, or Stands And Mounts? If you find a stand you like, be sure to do a Google search to see if you can find a better price.

Inthedeck, I use this and some of these for my HK 7200. The thing is a beast (the HK, that is). The Sanus rack provides plenty of ventilation and hold the receiver with no overhang. Plugging things in or rearranging cords is easier now. I used to have an entertainment center. The Sanus rack comes in a couple of color choices, black being the most cost effective. I can add shelves as I please and I also bought some 12" risers for the HK so there is plenty of air above the unit.

I, too, use the Sanus Euro modular system, only in black which is a little less expensive than in cherry. Both are available at Racks and Stands. The nice thing about the Euro is that they come with poles that allow 8" of space between the shelves. But, you can buy sets of either 5" poles or 12" poles to make the spacing adjustable. Notice that the shelf holding my center channel has the 12" poles, as does the bottom shelf of the A/V rack, which will soon be holding a separate amplifier.

Jack, you are becoming a bonafide audiophile on us.
You must be referring to one of the Emotiva amps, right? If so, I envy you.

Trust me, I'm a far cry from an audiophile. Yep! Getting a set of the ULs, but not until those who actually paid for them get theirs. Should be sometime in late July, early August, but you know how that goes.

Those look like very nice pieces. I have to keep reminding myself that my HK 7200 works just fine and is in no need of replacement. Unfortunately, need and want are two separate things in this hobby!
Have fun with the ULs.

Sean, your supposed to tell Jack how much you hate, not envy him. Congrats to you, Jack. Even though I already knew that Emotiva was coming your way.

Thanks for the pics. Is there a way, with the Sanus stands to hide the wires a little better? Boy, I wish they made them in a slightly different color. Black and BC are out of the question...(not because of me...but because of the other half)...but they are still a consideration. That's kinda why I wanted to know what can be done about the wires?

Nice Rockets, Jack!
Thanks, Doug.

CERTAINLY! Just put a bigger piece of equipment on the bottom shelf. Actually, each shelf has a round 2 inch hole at the back edge in the center, nicely trimmed. You can route the wires through that, or you can route them to the posts and secure them there. I'm just lazy.
Securing and hiding cables can be a mixed experience. If you ever need to sway out a cable, or check one, or add one, or remove one, the more diligent your cable control the more difficult and painful the process. Ask Tharkun. So, ya pays yer money, and takes yer choice

That's a wonderful looking system, Jack. I must say I've always liked the high gloss look of the Rockets. Although the more I look at that pic, the more I can't help but wonder how that couch might be affecting the sound! I hear you about managing cables too. Eventually I'm going to get the urge to clean it up, but for now it's just a big jumbled mess behind the entertainment center.

Adam, I used to have the speakers up on stands to raise all the woofers above the sofa arm. Now that I have them on the ground, in all honesty, I don't notice any difference. I think, when I calibrate, I have to set the left front speaker 1 dB hotter than the right, and that's it. Nice to know I'm not the only "wire slob" on the forum.

Check out the pics in my sig. I'm sure my solution isn't for everyone. Especially those with WAF issues. My HK AVR630 is 42 lbs, so not as big as the 7300. It wouldn't fit into the entertainment wall unit without cutting holes in the back. My solution was to just put it on top and I haven't changed it since. I never have to worry about it over heating since it is out in the open.
Just throwing in an extra idea.
