Is the VP150 suitable for use as both the center and as mounted L/R front speakers?
They would obviously be perfectly matched, the VP150 can handle more power than the W22s, they don't take up floor space like the M60s/M80s (a spouse requirement) and they can be aimed--unlike the W22s. On the flipside, the VP150 is obviously not designed for this purpose. It also operates at 6 ohms, whereas the W22s operate at 8 ohms--not sure if that makes a difference.

Would it work, yes. Would it be something I would try, probably not. There is a reason that mains/bookshelves have their drivers orientated vertically versus horizontally, like a center channel speaker. The tweeters are on top for a reason. Also, the enclosure is shaped differently. If you turned the VP150 on its side, you would have a tweeter on top and bottom. Also, the VP150 can't produce the same bass as a larger woofer.

Get M22's and Axiom Full Metal Brackets instead.
The VP150 is a great speaker, but is specifically designed to be oriented horizontally. I don't think three of them would image very well. Also, as Randy mentioned, it is a sealed speaker, and won't play as low as the M22.
Call Axiom.

Actually, Alan told me once that they sounded pretty good in vertical orientations as LR speakers. But they may also be much larger than you expect...

Thanks, sirquack, et al. I've been reading your posts, so I'm glad that you responded. Do you have any concerns about the Architectural series or should I just get M60s/M80s and politely ignore spousal grumblings?
My home theater is medium to large-ish (18L x 14W x 8H), fully enclosed, with a 104" diagonal screen. My main concerns with the M22s are threefold:
1. May not be large enough for this room
2. Can't be aimed at the listening area
3. Will need to sit too high on the wall (tweeter at approximately 50-55")
Thoughts?

As John suggested, if you get the full metal bracket that Axiom sells you can aim them at the listening position. This would take care of concerns 2 & 3.
For that sized room the M60s would be nice, but it depends on your listening level preferences.

My HT room is roughly the same size as yours. I have the 22s, and they sound great but in my opinion they are at the edge of their effectiveness in that room. Not close enough that I'm desperate to switch to 60s, but on the edge. I would suggest the 60s. Also the VP150, not being ported, probably would not be the best for music playback.

Ummm, Dave, John's not here, man. I always aspire to ignore spousal grumblings. Just get the 60's. You know you want them. Then, you can learn the secret handshake and become part of the posse and everything.  j/k. It really does depend upon how loud you want it. But anecdotal evidence suggests that you'll want it louder AFTER your Axioms than you did before.
