Although I thought he was somewhat crazy at times I did enjoy watching his shows.

I do feel sorry for his family, but I'm certainly not surprised at all.

Then again if I can't say anything nice then perhaps I should keep quiet.

Wow. Of all the ways to go?! I'll never see sting rays the same way again. I wonder if this will affect the petting areas at zoos and theme parks?

Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.

Different type of stingrays than those at the small "stingray pools" and such that you can "pet". But you are right, it may still have an effect on perception of the animals.

This is one of the most tragic losses I have ever heard of. From all accounts he was a great guy who loved his wife, his kids and the planet. This is a loss that the world could have done without.

I was saddened to hear of his death as well. It somehow seems more tragic when someone so full of energy dies. Though at the same time I couldn't help but giggle (just a little bit) when a friend of mine said "The crocs must have put a hit out on him." He'll be missed.
