Slowly piecing together my home theater system I am finding that where possible I can get much better deals online than in stores. Prime examples of this are the axiom speakers. I also have found my project much cheaper online than in retail.

I really like price comparing online, since it is quick and easy compared to driving all over the place to find hi-fi stores with MSRP prices.

What I can't seem to find is an online retailer, or even local store, that carries and shows prices for core components like recievers and DVD players for the Canadian market. The americans have a number of places to shop for deals, but Canada is left with nothing.

Are there any places online to buy recievers, DVD players, remotes, cables, etc. At least are there any canadian stores that post prices that I can get someone local to price match to?

There are the usual BestBuy and FutileShop sites.

I didn't know about Redflag deals or digital home. I will have to keep track of those sites for future.

They are more of a listing of current deals on more common websites (tigerdiect, ncix, etc) and regular stores than something new though. Right now, they don't have any recievers of substance listed. I suspect many of the online stores are not authorized to carry many of the brands that I was looking to buy (ie. pioneer, denon, yamaha)

The problem with something like redflag deals is that if I start watching it, I will get tempted to buy other things
