Purchased the Axiom Epic 80 / 600 in a 7.1 configuration. To power it I got the Outlaw 990 Preamp/Processor and the seven channel amplifier 7700.

The Outlaw items I purchased as a combo pack to save a few bucks. The Axiom speakers I purchased at the factory outlet.

With that said I have to wait 6 weeks for all of it to arrive. I am not good at waiting so I like that I am forced to delay the satisfaction of having the entire system. I am terrible at waiting for things.

What I am looking for is suggestions for speaker placement and sound absorption panels. I have read a lot about increasing sound acoustics in ones room.

I guess I should also post room dimensions.

Any advice is appreciated.

Can't wait to power it up! Oh should I wait for all of the speakers or hook them up as I get them?

Thanks again.

Brian

Brian Welcome, nice setup you are getting, my guess is all your speakers may arrive at the same time. If you post your room dimensions you will get lots of help for your setup, there are also some folks on the board with good experience with absorption panels, and can help you with some great advice. Again great setup, have fun with your new toys.

Hey Brian,

Nice to see another Iowan around these parts, I think that makes 5 that I know of.. What part of the state are you from?

If you average all of the dates on the speakers you ordered, that should give you a good estimate when they will arrive. Usually, they come sooner than the longest speaker date listed in the Factory Outlet.

I'm one of the people recently messing around with treatments. I can say I really seem to have improved the overall sound, clarity, and echo reduction.

Here is a good website to get you some good starter information on acoustics.

Here is a thread I started that has some pics throughout and results...

Talk to you later. Randy

Thanks for the good info so far. I will have to check out the sites over the weekend.

I am from Missouri Valley, IA. Currently living in Council Bluffs, IA.

Maybe someday we can get together and share audio war stories.
