For a center - what would be the best match the VP100 or the 150? I'm scared the VP150 will be way to much and over power the fronts.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Hello

I have the 150 with M22s and it works perfectly. It's more than I need for my space, but prevents upgradeitis. If your receiver will let you make adjustments (I'm confident it will) and you get the RadioShack SPL Meter you should be able to set it up fine.

Should not be a problem, if you calibrate your system once you get it, things will be fine. The size of your room might help determine which one to get, or your budget.

Tonay, welcome. The best match for M22 mains is an M22 center. As the other replies indicate, however, you calibrate the speakers so they're equal in loudness, regardless of how they may differ in capability. So, when calibrated no speaker can "over power" another.

I've got the 150 with m22's. It's a great match-calibrate correctly and you will love them.

I've heard the "use the same speaker center as mains" thing before and agree based on my readings. The only thing is when I see pics of their HT set up they have a speaker upright on top of their tv. It just looks stupid. How best do I balance the sound perfection w/ the asthetics aspect.

Truthfully, I shouold be buying DIY speaker kits at the same price for greater performance but they look so unfinished.

Really - I'm in a bind on what to do.

Tonay, while the ideal may be using the same speaker in all positions, using a dedicated center channel and dedicated surrounds is the next best thing, and not exactly a huge loss since the manufacturer has voiced them to be as close as possible to their main speakers. I have always had a dedicated center and surrounds and I don't feel deprived in the least. Go with what works for you, and don't be concerned about it.

Tonay, the VP100 or the VP150 should blend seamlessly with the M22's as they were designed to. I have the VP150 with M80's and the match to me is perfect in sound and asthetics, an M80 on its side under or over my TV may sound a little better if noticed at all, but would look rather silly. Just my thoughts, Good luck with your choices.
