I just received my kit less than a week after order and about 2000 KMs journey across Canada. A special thanks to JC and Noreen whom made this purchase and delivery go very smooth. It's time to play and retire my old Bose for a new:

M60s, QS8s, VP100 & EP350 working with:

Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXS
Pioneer Elite PRO-930HD
Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai

Merry Christmas & thanks Axiom!

Cool! I live in Calgary too, and will be placing an order at the end of January. I hope you enjoy your new listening experience!

Speak of the devil, thats probably about the same time I will be ordering as well. Attack of Cow Town!

I have been flip-flopping between M60s and M22s...Good thing I still have time to decide.

I was in the same quandry for a while, get the M60s or M22s. If you include the M22 stands (which you will most likely need) the cost comes very close. While the M22s are good speakers, they cannot compare with their floorstander counterparts.

So go for the M60s and if don't want any regrets then perhaps jump up to the M80s (depending on the size of your room)

It'll be the Epic 60/500 for me, I just can't decide on 61. or 7.1.

If I get the M60s, there will be about 36" of walking space between the door and the left M60...and the speakers will be more far out into the room compared to the M22s...

Its a toss up, it will def be more cramped with M60s in my room. It all depends on the riser situation as well...Trying to cram a riser in a 16x14 room is not as fun as you may think

I also have it all priced out...the DIY stands will be around $50. The total difference in Canadian between my 2 desired setups is around $450.

May God help me at the end of Jan.

Aw, come on. Just move into a new house. With housing prices in Calgary being soooo reasonable, you should have no trouble finding an affordable home with a big home theatre room.

Seriously, if you're unsure, maybe you can try out the M60's and see if they fit in your space. You could always exchange them for the M22's if they won't work out for you.

Well, actually, we bought a townhouse in coach hill before the madness in July of 2005. Just sold it and moved into a starter house in West Springs (west hills behind COP). It had an partially finished basement which allowed me to setup my own little theatre. The door to the room is right beside where the screen will be, hence less room for people to walk.

Hahahaha, this is a VERY good suggestion, for the wife as well, she'll like it I really DO want to try the M60s out, I may have to have them close to the wall than I like to make them work (if I could only give them 5" of breathing room to sound decent that would be awsome).

Trust me, I have been pretty OCD about this whole home theatre thing since I moved in (in August). I am sure the majority of the regulars on this board know me as that OCD guy from Calgary that has built 3d models of his theatre room and excel spreadsheets to measure exact distances.

I discust myself

Don't be too hard on yourself, you should see what I went through to convince my wife we needed to upgrade the sound system after getting a DVD player 3 years ago. Now I just have to do the same thing again so I can get an HDTV and possibly renovate the room for a more theater like setting.
