Have you thought about running the wire under the carpet, or do you have wood floors? I don't know, it's just a thought.

Yes, I have, but I am not very handy, and I am afraid I'd mess everything. My condo was purchased new last year and came with carpets already installed. Thanks though.

Funny i have gone back and forth the same way you have. i have even seen you post in a couple of other forums at peices i was looking at. and just today i pretty much made the same decision as you. go with the 804 its cheap enough i wont feel bad if i replace it next year but advanced enough that i might not have to. anyway good luck where did you order from?

I guess you're talking about AVSforum Jake. I also pay attention to fellow Axiom owners in other boards. Lots of ugly stuff there, but you have to admit, huge participation.

Not a secret, Here is where I bought my Onkyo.

I have to admit, even though I feel bad about it. I lost more than $50 from not ordering it from JR.com earlier this week, it is now sold out there.

The Rotel is a good choice. I've always liked Rotel equipment - used to be a great bang for the buck. You may want to look at NAD, as well. Axiom offers Sherwood, which is a decent product and worth consideration.

If you're looking to spend over $1000, I think you can get more flexibility and better sound by moving up to separates.

A quick update here on my cables: I just received the speaker cable for the surrounds, center, HDMI cable and subwoofer cable (I know I know this is probably not necessary, but I just wanted to be sure about the convenience and hum/shield issues) from BlueJeans Cable all for about USD 100. An HDMI cable alone purchased at local BestBuy would cost that much. Great looking cables, with a great price. Also the customer service was excellent. They answered all my emails in a timely manner, even in Sunday, shipped them Priority the next day I placed my order. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

No, you do not NEED 1.3. Definitely, do not. Is it worth waiting for? Maybe, maybe not. With 1.3 you will get True color, auto lip sinc, and higher band width carrying capabilities for DD-HD and DTS-M. You will also get a whole new batch of bugs. So take your chances.

One question about the HDMI 1.3 and the lip synch issue. I am doing advance reconnaissance for purchases over the next year....Does anyone encounter lip synch issues? Is there anyway with current technology to correct it? The reason I ask - I don't have digital cable nor do I have an HD TV - far from it - I don't even have an STB. Yet every now and then I have lip synch issues watching regular TV. I think it must be an equipment problem with Time Warner somewhere up the line - so the HDMI 1.3 probably wouldn't fix it. Since it is irritating, I am wondering if putting together a new TV, Digital Cable, Receiver, and DVD is lip synch something that I should be concerned about......Argon

Well....Being somewhat of a rookie, I was trying to include some of Mdrew's post from earlier in this thread, but it came out looking like part of my post. Pardon my ignorance.
