Has anyone been able to compare directly W3s with the M3s ? I am going to get a pair of W3 for my kitchen (hey, I like good sound when I cook ) and I have read nothing but glowing accolades for the M3.. just wondering if the sound is a bit different or a LOT different given the designs between the bookshelf and the architectural model.

Yeah! Anybody!??

Well, after 18 months on the jungle, I am moving to Brazil, 3hrs-drive far from Rio... but I am leaving my M3's behind...

I found some good people on Ecuador, really warm people, and as I was working on the jungle, they did not necessarily had a good chance to acquire electronics, or afford them. So I left the M3's and the Sherwood receiver as a gift for a couple I met down there. Actually, I left a lot of stuff for the people there !!

I will miss the speakers a lot... I just had them for 6 months!!! but transfers are unpredictable on my job.

Now the Axiom heritage is now in a place you will never think of, called Lago-Agrio, Ecuador (Nueva Loja is the official name)... sadly it will never be fully appreciated there until another expat goes there and say "wow, what a great sound, where did you get those?"

Well... just to say goodbye to the M3... I will get to Brazil and check the housing to fit another Axiom setup, or try to bring the big setup (in the signature) from Venezuela...

P.S.: frequent buyer program... will be nice.

That was very big of you. Now you have a chance to buy M82s and an A1400.

It's not a tube amp, but I would highly recommend the new Onkyo A9555 Class D integrated amp. Stereophile has a glowing review on their web page where they describe the sound as "tube like." They write:

"The A-9555's tonal balance was close to neutral—no part of the spectrum was unduly emphasized or neglected. There was perhaps just a touch of warmth to the sound (hence the descriptor tube-like), and the highs were slightly on the soft side (more so when the stock rather than the HiFi-Tuning fuse was installed). The highs didn't sound obviously rolled off; it's just that there was a bit less "air" in the extreme high frequencies."

"The A-9555 is good enough that you won't feel you've made a major compromise in a most important component. If you want significantly better sound, be prepared to spend much more.

Yup, I was impressed."

I am using one to power a pair of M3v2's and couldn't be more pleased. Plenty of power (85 watts per channel)and a very smooth and balanced sound. The synergy between the Onkyo and the Axioms is awesome!
