hey all...I'm going to be moving and am looking for some advice. I am going to purchase Axiom W22 and W100 on-wall speakers for my living room, but cannot get the OK for the quad surrounds...I've been looking into using an in-ceiling pair as my rear surrounds...any thoughts, recommendations on brands or overall suggestions???

OL, I'm unenthusiastic about actual in-ceiling speakers. Have you considered and pointed out that a neatly-installed pair of QSs are quite unobtrusive and only extend about 3" farther from the wall than the W series does?

I've heard many in-ceiling systems and have been thoroughly disappointed. I suggest you don't even consider this option.

Not a fan of in-ceiling speakers, sorry. The point of surround speakers is just that, to surround you in the experience, you will never get that from in-ceiling speakers.

The Q's, in my opinion, are one of the best surrounds out on the market. Besides, you want the sound to be at your sides, not above.

Do you have side walls? You could always get matching W22's, W3's, etc., but even those will not compete with the Q's.

Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear.

it is what I expected to hear...I've got the Q surrounds in my house now and they are great. Problem is the house I'm moving to has a different living room set-up and the Q's would be a little harder to hide. It's a bi-level/raised ranch and while I have one side wall, the other was taken down to open the room up with the kitchen and dining rooms - so there is no wall on one side, so my options are limited...

You can't ceiling mount them, that is what I did for all 4 of my Qs8's. I only had one wall on one side as well, of course I ran the wiring before the drywall was installed.
