Very Nice.

Wondering what the piece of carpet is for under the PC and running up the wall a ways? My guess is that the PC needed a little extra sound suppression.

or does it just have sensitive feet?

Good question! It's not a PC, but a 2200VA UPS that supplies power to all of the equipment, including AVR, both EP500s, and the projector. It has continuous fans running and is quite loud, so the carpet was to help the dampen the sound reflections... just as you speculated

Hmmmmm... That pic has me rethinking my approach. In order to enclose the back and keep all of the cabling inside, I'm going to have to make it fairly deep.

Does the glass door on the front cause any sort of reflection annoyances for the viewers?

You are right about the depth. Make the cabinet extra deep with a door on the back, but the shelves inside should probably be about 4 inches shorter for cables and air flow.

The glass door does relect light from the screen if you are sitting in the 2nd row right side (where the reflected angle is just right). But it's not been something that has bothered anyone or myself. Eyes seem to stay on the screen No problems from the left side of the back row, or any of the front row because the cabinet is far enough back that no light is reflected to those seats. I prefer to see the equipment, so the cabinet is just right of the front row.

I had an old Oak cabinet with shelves that I built back in college ( a long time ago) that I just painted black. It fit nicely in the wall opening I cut out, and attached it to the 2x4's. I also predrilled holes for the shelves.

Now that's what you call easy access to the back of the equipment! That's the Emotiva amp on the bottom that you sent back, correct?

Yep, I owned an MPS-1 with 3 amps installed for about 3 months. I had issues with it shutting down driving my m80's so I sent it back. I currently have two Odyssey Monoblock Amps driving my 80's...
