Anyone done direct comparisons? I'd expect somewhat more bass from the Energy, but how about the rest?

Thanks.

I have not heard Energy RC-10's but the reviews I have read make them sound like I want to hear them and they should sound similar to M3's.

Don't think you're right about that. The response curve of the RC-10 is much smoother than the M3, with no recessed quality. In that respect it's closer to the M2 and M22.

No. I have the response curves on hand, but not the answer to the question. Somebody must have heard this speaker?

Again just guessing but if they have as much bass as the reviews say then I still say more like M3 as the bass tends to obscure the mids and highs a little ala Mojo and my M22/M60/M80 review.

I do find it a little hard to believe an abundance of bass with a 5 1/4" driver though. The M22 has a good amount of bass just very tight sounding and very clear.

VF, welcome. You correctly asked about a "direct comparison". Hearing speakers on different occasions at different locations and with possibly other variables as well may be of little real value as comparative info. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that anyone here has that information.

The curve on their website shows a hump at the 100hz to almost 90db and then a drop to 85-87 and linear from there as does the M3 but the M3 picks up toward the higher frequency but the RC-10 does not. The M2 is linear across the 87db range no hump or drop out or am I looking at the wrong graph on the Energy site.
