Every review I read praises these speakers to no end but I'm wondering are they really that good, I am looking at a set of PSB 2b's but I keep coming back to these Axiom's, can anyone steer me in the right direction here?

How much have you found the Image 2Bs for? If they're going near their $399 retail price, I'd get the M22tis instead. Most here will agree that the M22ti is better than the M3ti in most respects. The M22tis go for $400 -- if you can afford them, get them.

As far as the comparison between the M3ti and the Image 2B, I can't help you there. Spec-wise, they're pretty similar, other than the fact the PSB is a 6-ohm speaker while the Axiom is 8-ohm.

I'm in Canada so the M3ti's are about $380 as are the 2b's, that's in Canadian Funds, the m22's are quite a step up in price at $550 a set so not really sure if they're doable or not.

Phil, the M3's are an exceptional speaker. I have them paired with an HSU VTF-2 and feel that I could spend hundreds more and not get the quality of sound I now have.
Have no experience with the 22's though.

I take it you're heard the 2Bs? I remember liking the PSB image sound, though I only heard their larger tower models.

When I was auditioning speakers I directly compared the 2Bs, Mini-Monitors, Reference 2, and M3s. I was not keen on the Mini-Monitors (too boomy) but a good case could be made for any of the others. My decision came down to price, and at that time the Axioms were considerably less money, in fact they were cheaper than the 1Bs, so it was an easy decision. I am still impressed by their sound, and so is everyone who has been lucky enough to listen. Last night my sister-in-law was convinced that my copy of Nora Jones was very different than hers. I am a lot less affected by "upgrade-itis" than many on this board, and if I never change them I don't think that I will ever feel that I missed something. If you base your decision on which company has the best bulletin board and customer service, then I think it is still an easy choice.

I think the M3s are great speakers. Personally, I prefer them to the M22Tis, at least the pair I auditioned. To my ear the M22s sounded flat compared to the M3s.

My previous speakers were a pair of Infinity Composition Overture 3 towers (about $3000 a pair). The Axiom M3Tis simply blew the Infinities away in every way, at least to my ears.

You will not be disappointed in the M3Tis.

The M3Ti are very fine, especially for the price. After getting mine, I have listened to the PSB 4T and 5T in a store setting, and did not like them any better (for 2 and 3 times the price...) If you are not going to have a sub, then the slight mid-bass hump makes them very pleasant and full-range sounding for music. They let me hear what I have done on my recordings - honestly but without making the eq choices scream out at me, so I can listen to them for hours on end. They are fair to all types of music and I wish I was home right now listening to some of my friends singing for me.

Yeah I have heard the 2b's on many occasions, most of my friends have them which is the reason I am looking for something different to try, I will be using a Sub and a Yamaha RXV-530 reciever, just wanted some assurance that the M3ti's were worth it and I got it, thx to all that replied.
