That's good if they mail out the CD.

I had the same problem as I didn't have ethernet near my projector. You can use the yellow video RCA cable as well. I just grabbed one of our smaller tv's and plugged the yellow cable into that to get video.

There is a number inside the box you can call and Toshiba will mail you the newest firmware version on cd

For everyone that just bought your new Toshiba's register them online with Toshiba and they will mail you a disc for every update. I update mine through the ethernet, to me that's the simplest way rather than waiting for the disc, but they still send me the discs every time an update is put out.
I also bought a 30ft cat5 cable for pretty cheap online, I have four devices (PS3, Xbox360, AX2 and A2) that need to be updated or connected through the ethernet on occasion, so I just run the line from the office modem to the device, update then put the line away until I need it again.

I think you have the wrong one.

Interesting. That link brought me to the Canada site and the file is indeed different. Unfortunately, after burning to disc and trying to update, I'm still getting the same error code on the Toshiba!

I had to walk away for a few minutes. Ethernet isn't finding a connection either and I admit that I'm lousy with networking knowledge so the disc is probably better for me to persue.

You might try plugging your A2 straight into your cable/dsl modem (bypassing any router/firewall issues) and make sure the A2 is set to DHCP: On

I haven't managed to try the ethernet method yet, but I'm pretty familiar with network settings and whatnot (its part of my job).

That's how I do it, on the XA2 there is a maintenance menu that allows for ethernet setup and DHCP needs to be on, then you can check your connection. I'll probably take the A2 out of the box tonight and update it also.

Everything was successful, I'm sure DSL is faster but you also need to have the A2 hooked up to a monitor.
